Assistant Director of International Admission

St. Edward's University seeks a dynamic and strategic individual to join our Office of Admission as the Assistant Director of International Admission. This role is responsible for driving our international recruitment efforts, expanding our global reach, and contributing significantly to the university's enrollment goals. While primarily focused on international markets, this role will also encompass strategic management of domestic territories as well.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Recruitment & Territory Management: Develop and execute comprehensive recruitment plans for assigned international and domestic territories, contributing directly to the university's enrollment targets.
  • University Representation: Serve as a key ambassador for St. Edward's University, engaging effectively with a diverse range of constituents including prospective students, parents, high school counselors, alumni, and administrators of partnership programs.
  • International Travel & Outreach: Lead and participate in extensive international recruitment travel and events, often requiring multiple consecutive weeks away from campus. A valid passport is required and must be maintained.
  • Program Development & Marketing: Spearhead the development of innovative marketing and social media strategies specifically designed to engage and attract international students.
  • Leadership & Collaboration: Provide essential support to the Director of International Admission, serve as a backup for international student inquiries, and assist with the training and professional development of admission counselors.
  • Strategic Projects & Operational Support: Adopt a proactive leadership presence within the Office of Admission, contributing to higher-level strategic projects and ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of the admission function.
  • Event Planning & Participation: Actively participate in the planning and execution of recruitment events, conferences, panel discussions, and other initiatives that enhance the university's visibility and attract a diverse student body.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree
  • 2-3 years' experience in international student recruitment

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's degree preferred in a relevant field with demonstrated success in higher education admissions.
  • Proficiency in multiple languages is highly desirable, with a strong preference for Spanish.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Ability to be a self-starter, manage multiple tasks and projects effectively.
  • Working knowledge of student information systems.
  • Good knowledge of admissions operations.
  • Ability to develop knowledge of, respect for, and skills to engage with those of other cultures or backgrounds in accordance with the Holy Cross Mission.
  • Ability to handle highly confidential material and maintain integrity and confidentiality of data.
  • Ability to quickly learn new technology and stay current with emerging technologies.
  • Ability to create and maintain an environment that fosters team solutions across various departments.
  • Ability to balance priorities to accomplish assigned tasks within required time frames and shift between tasks efficiently.
  • Must possess an unencumbered driver's license and the ability to successfully pass a criminal background check.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities Include:

  • Strategically manage the recruitment efforts in assigned international and domestic geographic territories.
  • Represent the university among important constituents-including alumni, parents, high school counselors and administrators of partnership programs.
  • Serve as a backup to the Director of International Admission in the capacity of serving international students and answering general questions.
  • Assist with international recruitment travel and other events involving international prospective students or counselors, often multiple consecutive weeks away from campus.
  • Develop marketing and social media strategy to engage international students.
  • Assist in the smooth operation of the admission function.
  • Assist the directors in the office with the training and professional development of admission counselors.
  • Adopt a leadership presence in the Office of Admission and assist with higher level strategic projects, when assigned.
  • Participate in event planning and related recruitment projects.
  • Other duties as assigned.
