Business Intelligence Analyst

St. Edward's University of Austin, Texas invites applications for the position of Business Intelligence Analyst (BIA). The university's technical and information resources must inform analysis and decision-making at the executive level and throughout the university's administrative and academic offices. The BIA works with the Vice President of Institutional Effectiveness and Planning, the Senior Business Intelligence Analyst, and stakeholders throughout the university to develop and deliver business intelligence solutions, and to conduct research and analysis in support of decision-making.


QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor's degree in computer science, technology, business or related field. Familiarity with data visualization products, e.g. Tableau. Familiarity with columnar database solutions, e.g. Redshift or BigQuery. Familiarity with statistical software packages, e.g. SAS or SPSS. Ability to design, create and deliver training on relevant topics. Excellent technical, communication and interpersonal skills. Customer service focus with strong attention to detail. Ability to perform in a fast paced, rapidly changing work environment. Successful completion of an employment and criminal history background check is required. Must possess an unencumbered driver's license and the ability to successfully pass a criminal background check.


Responsibilities:

  • Supports the implementation, assessment, and refinement of university strategies through the effective application of business intelligence and data analytics best practices.
  • Partners with key stakeholders to develop business requirements for analytics-driven business processes.
  • Participates in the design, development, and implementation of systematic and sustainable BI solutions.
  • Plans, designs, and creates reports, cubes, dashboards, and models for executives and other business users to meet strategic and operational needs.
  • Develops and maintains templates and training materials for university constituents.
  • Provides formal training and informal support to campus constituents on the use of university BI tools.
  • Works closely with campus offices and data stewards to create and maintain an authoritative data dictionary for the University.
  • Creates and shares presentations and summary reports as required.
  • Under the direction of the Vice President for Institutional Effectiveness and Planning, coordinates with the Vice President for Enrollment Management on the assessment of financial aid leveraging strategies, financial aid budget planning and forecasting, enrollment modeling projections, and market assessments of student search list procurement.
  • Under the direction of the Vice President for Institutional Effectiveness and Planning, supports the multi-year resource planning efforts of the Vice President for Finance and Administration.
