Clinical Assistant Professor- Practicum and Internship Coordinator

The CACREP-accredited Master's in Counseling (MAC) program at St. Edward's University invites applications for appointment as a full-time, non-tenure-track Clinical Assistant Professor/Practicum and Internship Coordinator to begin in Fall 2022. The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating field experience and teaching courses within the MAC program. The MAC program comprises two CACREP accredited specializations - clinical mental health counseling (CMHC) and marriage, couples, and family counseling (MCFC). Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

The Clinical Assistant Professor- Practicum and Internship Coordinator will be responsible for the oversight of the administrative and programmatic structure of practicum and internship in the counseling program. This includes but is not limited to maintaining compliance with CACREP Section 3- Professional Practice, assistance in management of field experience software program- Tevera, reviewing student field experience applications, securing and appropriate field sites and site supervisors. This is a full-time, 9-month position with teaching duties and responsibilities and opportunities for additional compensation available for work in the summer. Duties include a 2/2 teaching load with administrative responsibility, academic advising, oversight and coordination of recruitment, orientation and other administrative tasks to support faculty, students and clinical sites. The selected candidate will work closely with the MAC faculty and students to manage program growth and in strategic decision making.


Required Qualifications:

  • Earned doctorate (Ph.D.) in Counselor Education and Supervision from a CACREP accredited program. ABD candidates will be considered, but must complete degree requirements by date of appointment.
  • University teaching experience in counseling.
  • Licensed or eligible for LPC and/or LMFT in Texas.
  • Demonstrated ability to teach courses across the CACREP curriculum in the Master of Arts in Counseling (MAC) program.
  • Demonstrated ability to serve as practicum and internship coordinator.
  • Demonstrated commitment to enhancing diversity in academia, social justice, fostering the university's global initiative, and supporting strategic priorities.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Postdoctoral experience teaching in a CACREP accredited program.
  • Knowledgeable of CACREP-accredited counseling programs.
  • Experience in clinical supervision will be highly considered.
