Mathematics Adjunct Teaching Position

School of Natural Sciences


Adjunct faculty appointment to teach 1-3 sections of College Algebra and/or Precalculus during the fall semester of 2017, with possibility of renewal. 



Responsibilities include teaching 1-3 sections of College Algebra and/or Precalculus.  This entails following a common syllabus, utilizing online homework (WebAssign) and learning management systems (Canvas), holding one office hour per week per section, and keeping in contact with the course coordinator, primarily by email, for common assignments and exams.  Class size is generally 24-30 students; compensation is $3700 per 3-credit course.



Master's or Ph.D. degree in mathematics.  An advanced degree in mathematics education or a related field will be considered if the applicant has at least 18 graduate credit hours in mathematics courses. Strong professional commitment to undergraduate education in mathematics is expected. The successful candidate will demonstrate potential for excellence in classroom teaching.  Successful completion of an employment and/or criminal history background check required
