Adjunct Positions


St. Edward's University invites applications for an Adjunct position to teach general science.  Job duties will August 15, 2017. 


SCIE 2320 Science in Perspective

SCIE 2320 Science in Perspective covers a broad sequence of topics: the nature of science; astronomy (including how the elements were formed); climate change; energy (including alternative energies); health and nutrition; and evolution.  While covering those topics, students will distinguish between science and pseudoscience; understand the difference between science and technology; and understand the role of science in creating and solving current societal problems.  Other responsibilities include: attending meetings; conducting surveys; reporting performance statistics; and maintaining office hours.  Multiple sections of the course will be available for the fall semester:  MWF 9-9:50 am; 10-10:50 am; and 1-1:50 pm.



Ph. D. or Master's degree in biology, chemistry, physics, or a related discipline.

Graduate level coursework of at least 18 hours in biology, chemistry, or physics required. 

Excellence in teaching is essential and teaching experience is preferred.
