I4 Programs Coordinator
School of Natural Sciences

Overview
Provide support during the development and implementation of the Institute for Interdisciplinary Science (I4). This position is funded through a grant from the National Science Foundation.

Responsibilities 

  • Coordinate cooperating agreements with cross-sector partners.
  • Assist the I4 leadership team with the management of internships, faculty professional development grants, and research opportunity awards.
  • Organize industry partner tours, develop and oversee a seminar series and annual symposium.
  • Maintain up to date advising resources, and, in collaboration with the career and professional development office, provide career guidance or make
  • referrals to career services staff as appropriate.
  • Design materials and develop resources for reporting and dissemination.
  • Provide support for outreach initiatives.
  • Contribute to program planning, implementation, and evaluation.
  • Promote I4 to students and faculty through classroom visits, presentations, and workshops.
  • Maintain the institute records,program budget and orders, correspondence, and routine office operations.
  • Coordinate institute activities including contract, transportation, reservations, stipend requests, and master calendars.
  • Prepare applications files for review.
  • Occasional travel is required.
  • Perform other related duties as required.

Qualifications

  • Master's degree in aligned fields preferred.
  • Industry and/or career counseling experience preferred.
  • Experience working collegially in a diverse multicultural community.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to manage tasks and projects independently as well as collaboratively with a team.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks, handle confidential information and interact confidently with faculty, staff, and students.
  • Must be available for occasional travel.
  • Successful candidate must complete an education and/or criminal background check.
