Assistant Professor of Management
The Bill Munday School of Business

The Bill Munday School of Business at St. Edward's University invites applications for a full-time, nine-month, tenure-track position in Management to begin in Fall 2019. This position in The Bill Munday School of Business will be filled at the Assistant Professor level with salary depending on qualifications and experience. The role of the successful candidate will be to contribute to curriculum development and teaching in general management areas such as social enterprise/innovation, human resource management, organizational behavior, leadership, strategy, and related management areas as assigned in both the undergraduate and graduate levels. The successful candidate must also have demonstrated history and potential to produce research in general management disciplines, with emphasis in at least one of the areas noted above.   • St. Edward's University is regarded as a teaching institution and considers teaching as central to the mission. The teaching load is a 4-3 (total of 7 courses per academic year) with teaching reassignment for scholarship. Courses are delivered face-to-face or in hybrid format. Teaching assignments may be in the undergraduate or graduate program.
  • Advising undergraduate students.
  • Interacting with local, regional, national, and international business, nonprofit, government, and community representatives to develop experiential learning opportunities for students.
  • Developing new courses and curriculum as needed.
  • Participating in assessment of student performance in the discipline.
  • Maintaining commitment to social responsibility in the classroom, in line with the University's mission.
  • Maintaining an active, quality research agenda leading to refereed publications in the field.
  • Meeting School and University service requirements through participation in committees and campus initiatives.
  • Fulfill other required faculty responsibilities as outlined in the St. Edward's University Faculty Manual.


  • As the school pursues AACSB accreditation, applicants must have the following credentials:
  • Ph.D. or D.B.A. from an AACSB-accredited business program with specialization in Management or related field.
  • Tenure-track status requires a degree completed by August 2019.
  • A demonstrated record or strong potential for scholarship in peer reviewed publications.
  • Basic understanding of AACSB 2013 standards and practices.
  • Evidence of excellent teaching potential.
  • Excellent written and oral English communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Experience with and commitment to working with a diverse population.
  • Prior teaching experience and business industry experience preferred.
  • Interest in our university's global initiatives preferred.
  • Successful candidate must complete an education and/or criminal background check.
